BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF ADMINISTRATION WING OF
THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANT PROTECTION
Department of Plant Protection is a technical arm and an attached Department of Ministry of Food, Agriculture & Livestock (MINFAL), Government of Pakistan. It is housed in its own premises located at Jinnah Avenue, Malir Halt, Karachi – 27 (Post Code-75100) Pakistan. The Department has 148 sanctioned posts of Officers in BPS-16 and above and 662 posts of staff in BPS-15 & below. Plant Protection Adviser & Director General is the declared Head of the Department, therefore, he also heads the Administration Wing.
The Administration Wing consists of the following Sections and Deputy Director (Admn.) in BPS-18 is responsible to submit cases of the sections to the PPA&DG for approval / orders.
Establishment-I Section: It deals with the administrative issues and maintains the Personal Files, Recruitment Rules, Posting/Transfer cases of the Officer in BPS-16 & above.
Establishment-II Section: It deals with the administrative cases of the staff in BPS-2 to BPS-15 and maintains the Personal Files, Recruitment Rules, Transfer/ Posting cases, etc.
Establishment-III Section: It deals with the administrative cases of the staff in BPS-1 including posting / transfers etc.
These Sections i.e. E-I, E-II & EIII are supervised by an Assistant Director (Admn.) in BPS-17 and a Superintendent (Admn.) in BPS-16.
Confidential Section: It deals with confidential matters and maintains ACRs, Assesst of all employees of the Department and is directly supervised by the Deputy Director (Admn.) .
Transport and Equipment Section: It is responsible to supervise the repairs/maintenance work of the vehicles of the Department which operates in the desert and hilly areas of Pakistan. The section is supervised by an Administrative Officer in BPS-16.
M.T. Workshop: It is supervised by a Mechanical Engineer (BPS-17) and other essential technical staff to carry out the repair / maintenance job of the Departmental vehicles. It is facilitated by two mechanical stores which maintain record of each purchase & other connected matters.
General Section: It deals with Installation, disconnection of Office/Residential telephones, payment of telephone bills, maintains record of General Dak. (Receipt and issue) etc.
Stationary Store/Miscellaneous Items Store:It deals with stationary articles, miscellaneous articles required by the Department and Outposts and maintains record of all related record.
